Ok, nearly finished my first Devastator squad, will be painting up a Razorback/Rhino for these guys for the tournament i'm entering. Just need basing and some touchups and should be good to go. Quite like the mustard, thought it was too dark at first but after highlighting I think its growing on me. I'm hoping that forgeworld will release some transfers for the Lamenters as I can't seem to get the chapter transfer as neat as I would like.
Will start on my landspeeder next which was undercoated (using Army Painter Desert Yellow) and magnetised a couple of weeks ago and I have a rhino to soak in dettol and another one to build.
Hope you plan on entering these in the Squad painting competition over on my blog? I love the colour you have going on with them. You should do a tutorial on how you achieve it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Silar, I will be entering them when they're finished this week (along with a rhino and some fluff for them). I will post up a step by step tutorial as I have a pretty good tip for the cheques.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the work on the yellow. Well done.
ReplyDeleteNot such a fan of the smoke affect, but nice work and its done well. And only inspiration from Aventine... that hack! taught him everything he knows about Lamenters... LOL.. welcome to the growing Lamenters force in the 40k universe.
Thanks for the thumbs up on the yellow. The smoke effect was borrowed from one of Ally Morrisons marines in White Dwarf 226 (nov 2008 when 3rd ed was released)! I took inspiration for the colour scheme from Aventine but I must say that the fluff on your blog is brilliant Zenos (i may borrow some from your timeline if thats ok).
